Born and raised in Indiana, Pennsylvania (the hometown of Jimmy Stewart, in case you were wondering), writer/director David Altrogge produced his first feature-length film in high school. Since then, he has established himself as an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker whose work is inspiring, entertaining, and deeply human. In addition to directing content for some of the globe’s most influential brands (Netflix, Google, and the Discovery Channel, to name a few) his films have been featured by the LA Times, HuffPost, CNN, BBC, and NatGeo. David, along with cinematographer extraordinaire Michael J. Hartnett, is a co-founder of Vinegar Hill, a production company and storytelling outfit based in the great city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is the creator and host of School of Doc, a podcast that gets into the nitty gritty of filmmaking through intimate interviews with the world’s foremost documentarians. When not making films, he enjoys writing sappy songs for his wife and their two kids.
